How To Chartera Private Jet
What actually happens from first enquiry to boarding, and the four questions worth asking before you commit.
Start with the trip, not the aircraft
Departure city, arrival city, date, rough departure time, passenger count and baggage. That is enough to begin sourcing. Everything else is refinement.
You do not need to choose an aircraft first. Sector length sets the smallest class that works and runway length at both ends sets the largest that fits, so the shortlist is largely decided by the trip rather than by preference. Choose inside what survives those filters.
Say what changes the aircraft, not what you would prefer
A dog, a set of skis, a wheelchair, a hard requirement for connectivity, a passenger who cannot manage steep air stairs. Those constrain which airframes can do the job and belong in the brief from the start.
Interior colour and catering preferences do not constrain anything and can be handled once the shortlist exists. Raising the constraining items late is what turns a quote into a different aircraft at a different price.
Compare on the things that matter
A quote worth taking seriously shows the operator name and certificate number, the specific tail number, the year of manufacture, the third party safety audit status, every fee as its own line, and a single all in total.
Then ask two questions. Where is the aircraft starting from, which tells you how much positioning is buried in the number. And what is the cancellation policy in writing, which tells you what happens when the day changes.
On the day
You drive to the private terminal rather than the main one, frequently straight onto the ramp beside the aircraft. Arrive fifteen to thirty minutes before departure domestically, thirty to forty five for an international departure because outbound documents are checked before boarding.
There is no check in. Bags are loaded while you board and come off within a minute or two at the other end. On domestic flights in the United States there is no passenger security screening in the commercial sense, which is the part that surprises first time passengers most.
How we do it differently
Most brokers call three operators they know and mark up whatever comes back. We send the identical brief to every certificated operator with a suitable aircraft near your window, at the same moment, with no client name attached.
They price the trip rather than the person, knowing competitors are looking at the same brief. You see every bid side by side with our fee as its own line. Only the operator you award the flight to ever learns who is flying.
Questions
Process
How do I book a private jet?
Send the route, date, passenger count and anything that changes which aircraft is suitable. You do not need an account and you do not need to give a name to get a price. We put the trip out to certificated operators and return their sealed bids for you to compare.
How far in advance should I book?
Domestic legs can often be arranged same day when an aircraft is available nearby, though choice thins as you approach departure. International trips need more lead time because customs notification and permits have fixed timelines that cannot be accelerated.
Can I rent a private jet for one way?
Yes. One way is normal and frequently cheaper than a round trip when the gap between legs is long, because you avoid daily minimums on an aircraft parked at your destination.
Do I need to give my name to get a quote?
No. We price the flight, not the person. Operators receive the route, date, passenger count and cabin requirements only. Your identity is released to the winning operator after you award the flight, because the manifest requires it.
What do I need to bring?
Government issued photo identification. For international trips, a passport with sufficient validity and any visa the destination requires, plus documentation for animals and for minors travelling without both parents.
